Grade 1 English Classes

Grade 1 is an important year for your child to build a strong foundation for future language learning and development. We will work with your child in an integrated holistic approach to language learning. Building a strong foundation in grammar will ensure accuracy in sentence construction in reading comprehension and eventually confidence in paragraph writing in compositions.
Our Grade 1 curriculum is structured around the KET framework and will provide your child with competency in the following:
  • Build confidence in essential grammar concepts such as singular and plural verbs and nouns, articles, pronouns, prepositions, subject-verb agreement and more.
  • Use of punctuation marks for clarity and fluency.
  • Develop a good grasp of a variety of simple sentence construction.
Strengthen your child’s understanding of grammatical concepts by engaging them in exercises and activities.
